Evelyn Intges Alford, age 85, passed away peacefully on December 6, 2019. She was born on July 9, 1934 to Gus and Angeline Intges. She grew up in Baytown, Texas and graduated from Robert E. Lee High School in 1953. She later married the love of her life, James "Edd" Alford, in May of 1976.
Evelyn lived a wonderful life full of love. Evelyn was active member at Annunciation Greek Orthodox Cathedral. Being from a Greek family, cooking delicious meals was a passion of hers. Evelyn and Edd enjoyed entertaining, hosting parties with their many friends, and gathering for family reunions. They fondly remembered time spent on their boat, "Agape". In Evelyn's own words, "My favorite hobby is golfing. I'm truly addicted to the game and love traveling with other couples to different golf clubs. If I'm not with my grandbabies, you can find me on the links". Most of all, she treasured her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren who know her as Yaya. She embraced every moment with them with love and laughter.
Evelyn was proceeded in death by her father, Gus Intges, her mother, Angeline Intges, and her beloved husband James Alford.
Left to cherish her wonderful beautiful memories are her children, daughter, Kimberly Richard and husband Keith and son Chris Cohen; grandchildren Taylor, Angela, Charlotte, Travis, and Rachel; great-grandchildren, Sadie, Aubrie, Kimber, Allie, Jackson, Mila, and Hilton and wonderful loving Family members and Friends. All of these she loved greatly.
Evelyn's family would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to Compassionate Care Hospice of Bellville, Texas for the loving care they provided.
Family and friends are invited to attend the funeral with interment to follow on Wednesday, December 11th at 10:30 am at Henneke Funeral Home, 1515 Montezuma Street, Columbus, Texas 78934.
